The outdoor arena is 60m x 40m which allows us to enjoy 3 arenas operating safely alongside each other. The bank top benches allow spectators to view and hear what's going on in the arena from a raised position, allowing a clearer view. The arena itself has a well-maintained surface with kickboards and six specialized mirrors, these are a brilliant aid for you to use when riding. Our outdoor arena is positioned as privately as it can be. It is large and so lends itself to long arena dressage when required and jumping courses, as well as group clinics on the weekend with owner Kay Scott - Jarvis. The arena is floodlit, allowing us to continue lessons into the evenings, and in clear weather, the backdrop of views is absolutely stunning to watch lessons as the sunsets to the west.
We have a very inviting mini cross-country field, just between Arena 3 and the paddocks. This field had around 20 jumps, ranging in height but mostly from cross poles up to 90cm. 2023/24 will see the addition of our XC steps and bank. If you own your own horse then we can also teach you out here, register and follow the instructions on our 'how to book' page.
We have one large grass arena, which has a course of show jumps set out through the months of April- October. We like to teach lessons out here, for riders of all ages from learning to steer over poles up to jumping courses.
We have the luxury of miles and miles of off-road hacking around the Shoal Hill Common Estate. There are several routes on well-maintained grass and stoney tracks. The hacking is perfect for Rockstar Equine access enabling us to offer regularly assisted hacks to clients and liveries, as well as walkouts to our less experienced clients and on the lead rein.Stable YardsWe have two stable yards at Rockstar. Our newest barn was built during Covid in 2021 so boasts fabulous facilities like a hot wash and shower area, PC classroom, and large airy walkway for our inspections, BHS training days, and more.
A large majority of the horses kept at Rockstar enjoy small herd turn out in our Big Field, they're turned out in groups depending on their size and character. We feel that this benefits the horses by allowing them to interact and groom, play and it keeps them relaxed and content. The fields are mostly fenced with posts and rail, electric and also some hedgerows.
We also have some smaller paddocks for turnout in pairs or individually for those that need it and for our full liveries.
Our car park is at the front of the Barn and Office building. It is lit in the evenings and is large enough to cater to all visitors and lessons.
